2016年，第一届北京时装周盛大启幕，自成立以来，北京时装周陆续在太庙、前门大街、王府井、水立方、首钢园、隆福文化中心等首都地标举办系列时尚活动，活动专业品质、社会影响力、商业影响力、国际化程度逐年攀升。2020年，北京时装周纳入《北京市推进全国文化中心建设中长期规划(2019年-2035年)》，在提升城市时尚指数方面发挥重要作用，是推动北京时尚之城建设的重要引擎。 As of 2016 when the first BFW was launched with great success, a series of fashion events have been held in the capital city’s landmarks such as the Imperial Ancestral Temple, Qianmen Street, Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, Water Cube, Shougang Park, and Longfu Cultural Center with increasing influence in the fashion industry, the whole society, the business circle, and even the world. In 2020, Beijing Fashion Week was included in the “Long-term Plan for Promoting the Construction of National Cultural Centers in Beijing (2019-2035)”, signifying its important role in improving the city’s fashion index and promoting the construction of Beijing into a city of fashion.
